Maeve's nursery

In the weeks leading up to our baby girl’s arrival, my most favorite project to work on was her nursery. I am so excited to finally share what it looks like now! Photos were taken by Lindsey Kay Photography when she came over to do Maeve’s newborn session. She photographed our wedding and we just love her work so much, so it was very special to have her shoot this amazing part of our life. All sources are listed below!

Welcome to Maeve’s nursery:

I wanted to create a room that was peaceful and playful that fit with the rest of our house. A special touch that we added was the light pink reading/rocking nook with shelves that were custom built by my dad. We kept everything pretty neutral (other than that pink nook) so that we could trade pieces in and out of the nursery to the rest of the house or future kids rooms.

For the past month, we have been soaking up sweet snuggles in this room, having late night pep talks about the importance of sleep (I think she’s starting to get it), and changing more diapers than I ever thought imaginable.

I have fallen in love with this rocker – it is so comfy! And the pouf is the perfect size for propping my feet up. The white rope baskets hold her pacifiers, bows and hats, diaper balms and lotions, and pump supplies.

Since we decided to take the closet away to make room for the rocker and shelves, we needed a solid dresser to hold all of her clothes and blankets. The lamp has been great for late night diaper changes, and Maeve loves looking in the mirror every morning when we head across the room.

One of my favorite parts of the room is the wire wording I made after seeing a version of it at Anthropologie, hung below the glam shots of her older brothers :)

These shelves hold special books that were gifted to us and the cutest stuffed animals from an amazing brand that gives back, Cuddle and Kind.

Currently browsing amazon for black out curtains, because this is quickly becoming a necessity. But we love the budget friendly curtains that are up right now. Hopefully we can keep these up and just add something to make the room darker!

Sometimes I walk by her room and think about how crazy and how wonderful it is that a room that used to be painted chocolate brown and was hardly used is now the most beautiful and important room in our home!
